Wind farm - Out Newton, East Riding of Yorkshire.

Lisset wind farm

The largest wind farm in East Yorkshire. The wind farm consists of 12 turbines at the former RAF airfield at Lissett. Each one stands 125m tall - just 10m less than the height of the London Eye.

Clearly visible from the nearby A165 road between Beeford and Bridlington, energy production from the £38.5m development started recently when the first turbines went into operation.

Once fully operational, it is estimated the energy produced by the turbines will meet the annual needs of nearly 13,000 households, equivalent to 10% of the households in the East Riding of Yorkshire.
