Internet Geography Plus Summer Challenge 2025

Think you’ve got what it takes to be a geography champion?

This summer, students aged 11–14 are invited to take on the Internet Geography Summer Challenge 2025 — a fun way to explore the world, build geography skills, and take part in exciting activities (no flights required!).

There are two versions of the challenge:

  • If your school has an active Internet Geography Plus subscription, you’re eligible for the national competition, with the chance to win one of three £30 Love2Shop vouchers. Your challenge sheet will say Plus Summer Challenge 2025.
  • If your school does not subscribe to Internet Geography Plus, you can still complete the challenge for fun or as part of a school-only competition.
Your challenge sheet will read ‘Summer Challenge 2025’.

Check the title on your sheet to see which version you’re doing — and good luck!

What’s the challenge?

You’ll complete three geographical challenges that get you thinking about:

  • Distance and location across the UK
  • European cities and international events
  • Planning a travel adventure through at least six countries, without flying!

All the tasks are designed to be fun, creative and linked to the real world. You’ll be using tools like Google Maps and your research skills to plan journeys, compare places, and learn more about the world around you.

How to take part

  • Get a copy of the Summer Challenge sheet from your geography teacher.
  • Complete all three challenges over the summer holidays.
  • Hand your finished work to your geography teacher by 10th September 2025.

Your school will choose the best entry, and that student’s work will be submitted to the national final!

What could you win?

The top entries from across the country will go into a prize draw, and three winners will each receive a £30 Love2Shop voucher to spend on a range of high street brands.
