Internet Geography Summer Challenge 2025
Two ways to take part — one amazing summer challenge!
The Internet Geography Summer Challenge 2025 is open to all schools across the UK, with two ways to get involved depending on your school’s access to Internet Geography Plus.
This fun and educational competition is designed for students aged 11–14 to take part in over the summer holidays. It includes three exciting geography challenges that build real-world skills — from journey planning and mapping to global events and cultural research.
Option 1: Internet Geography Plus National Competition (Subscriber Schools Only)
Schools with an active Internet Geography Plus subscription can take part in the full national competition.
What’s included:
- Full access to the three challenge tasks
- Permission to submit one student entry per school into the national final
- A chance to win one of three £30 Love2Shop vouchers
- Student entries judged by the Internet Geography team
- Winners announced on 8th October 2025
- Vouchers are posted to winning schools the same day
How to enter:
- Students must complete their challenge by 10th September 2025
- Teachers select the best entry from their school
- Submit the entry by 24th September 2025 to [email protected] (First name of student only – no personal information)
This option is exclusive to subscribing Plus schools and is one of the many added benefits of being part of the Internet Geography community.
Plus subscribers can download the A3 2025 summer challenge sheet in a range of formats (please log in first to download):
Option 2: School-Only Challenge (Open to All Schools)
Any school can download and run the challenge with their students as a school-based activity, even without a Plus subscription.
What’s included:
- Access to all three challenge tasks
- Ideal for a fun end-of-term project or summer homework
- Encourages independent learning, research, and geography skills
Please note:
- Entries from non-subscribing schools will not be entered into the national competition
- Schools may still choose to run their own internal prize or reward system
- This is a great option for schools looking to trial the challenge or use it as a classroom resource.
